Endicott, NY – Pilot Killed in Plane Crash near Airport
Endicott, NY (June 19, 2019) – A plane crash that occurred Monday morning, June 17th, sadly left one person dead at the scene. The incident took place at 11:18 a.m. in the vicinity of the Tri-Cities Airport, according to police.
Authorities have stated that the pilot of a single-engine airplane, identified as 77-year-old Russell Darrow, of Brackney, PA, had been flying near the aforementioned location when the plane went down. Police have not stated where Darrow’s plane departed or where it was heading at the time of the crash.
Immediately following the incident, Broome County Sheriff’s employees were summoned to the scene, along with New York State Police. At this time, the Federal Aviation Administration, as well as the National Transportation and Safety Board, are in charge of the investigation in order to determine exactly how the crash happened.
