Tupper Lake, NY (March 6, 2019) – On Monday, March 4th, police arrested a man for the sexual abuse of a child following a complaint and subsequent investigation. According to troopers, 28-year-old William R. Facteau, of Tupper Lake, was arrested on Monday, although authorities did not specify an exact time the arrest was made.

The investigation into this case revealed that Facteau had inappropriate sexual contact with a 4-year-old child at some time in June 2018, although the act was not reported until July 16, 2018. Facteau has been sexual abuse and criminal sexual act, both as first-degree felonies. He was also charged with a misdemeanor for endangering the welfare of a child.

According to Sgt. Donald Gravell of the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department, Facteau was held in lieu of $5,000 bail, which he posted on Tuesday night, March 5th. Facteau has also been charged with resisting arrest after he was reported to have attempted to evade police and resisted being taken into custody.

Facteau will be arraigned in Franklin County Court on March 26, 2019, according to Sgt. Gravell.
