Mott Haven, Bronx, NY (May 16, 2019) – A man who walked into a hospital room and sexually assaulted an unconscious patient on Monday, May 13th, has now been taken into police custody. 62-year-old Roberto Marcucci was reported to have turned himself in on Wednesday night after the incident, which occurred at Lincoln Hospital in the Bronx, was made public.
According to investigators, Marcucci entered the room of a 68-year-old woman and began fondling and kissing her. A patient who witnessed the abuse alerted a nurse, at which point Marcucci fled the scene. Pictures and surveillance video of Marcucci was released to the public and the suspect was arrested after turning himself in a short time later.
Marcucci, who has been charged in the past with drug possession, assault, and petty larceny, now faces a charge of sexual abuse. No further information has been made available.
