New York, NY (April 26, 2019) – On Friday morning, April 26th, authorities reported that the Archdiocese of New York has now revealed the identities of 120 priests and clergy who have been credibly accused of sexually abusing numerous children. Authorities stated that the list of names does not include priests who belong to religious orders or institutes but only priests, deacons, and bishops who were incardinated in the Archdiocese of New York.
Cardinal Timothy Dolan made a statement as the list was released, asking for forgiveness for the severe failings of those who have been accused. The statement made a particular point to stress that not one of the individuals who has been credibly accused are active in ministry at this time.
The list, which is now widely available on multiple platforms provides the names of the accused, as well as their current status within the ministry. It also goes on to include clergy members who were ordained as far back as 1908.
