Danby, NY (April 4, 2019) – A 9-year-old child was sadly struck by a vehicle on Wednesday evening, April 3rd, prompting immediate responses from police and paramedics. According to New York State Police at Ithaca, the accident happened at around 5:13 p.m. along Coddington Road, in the vicinity of German Cross Road.
Investigators who arrived at the scene were able to report that a woman from Brooktondale had been traveling east along Coddington Road in a 2008 Toyota Prius when she struck the child. Police stated that the child had been crossing the street from a driveway when the incident occurred.
LifeNet was immediately called to the accident site, where they transported the young victim to Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse. The child has been listed in stable condition at this time. The unidentified driver involved was reported to have remained at the scene and fully cooperated with authorities. No tickets have been issued and no further information has been made available.
