Sweden, NY (March 26, 2019) – According to state police, a man has been arrested for forcible sexual contact after pretending to be a college student online. The suspect, identified as David Castaneda, of Brockport, was arrested on Tuesday, March 26th, for an incident which was stated to have occurred in October 2018.
Castaneda, who may also be known as David James or David Castaneda Trejo, is being charged with a criminal sexual act, as well as 12 counts of falsifying a business record, after he filed false records with the College at Brockport, according to authorities. Castaneda was already a registered level-two sex offender before the latest incident.
Investigators in charge of the case stated that the incident took place in October 2018 and they believe that there may be other victims. Castaneda was taken to Monroe County Jail on $25,000 cash bail or $50,000 bond. Anyone with any information concerning Castaneda is being asked to contact state police at 525-398-4100.
