Hispanics and Immigrants More Prone to Fatal Const. Accidents

Hispanics and immigrants working in the state of New York’s construction industry are the most susceptible to fatal construction accidents, according to a report by the Center for Popular Democracy (CPD).

In an online report published by the Latino Post Wednesday, February 26, the CPD states that from 2003 to 2011, 60% of fatalities in construction sites across New York City involved immigrants and/or Hispanics. The online report further stated that many people from these groups are undocumented, making them reluctant to report workplace incidents due to fear of termination or deportation.

At the Hach & Rose, LLP, we help New York workers injured in a construction accident evaluate their options for seeking financial compensation. Call us at (212) 779-0057 and let one of our attorneys help you explore the possibility of pursuing legal action.
