What Does It Mean To Be A Fall Risk?

Falls don’t just happen, and people who are elderly don’t fall just because of their age. Nursing homes and other facilities have an obligation to assess when their patients are fall risks. A fall risk can be due to some sort of underlying medical condition which makes a person more susceptible to falling. The medical facility is charged with doing the proper assessment of their patient to see if they are a fall risk, and making sure adequate protections are in place to prevent falls.
