What Should You Do If You’ve Been Involved in a Slip and Fall?

If you’ve been involved in a slip-and-fall accident, either on the street or inside of a building premises, the first thing you should do is document what caused you to slip and fall. There could be water on the floor, or there could be a raised flag on the sidewalk.

Notice your surroundings; notice the exact defect or condition that caused the accident to happen. If you happen to have your cellular telephone on you, take it out and take a photograph right then and there of what caused the accident.

It is also important, if you’ve been injured, that you call an ambulance to pick you up from the scene of the accident and take you to the hospital so that they can first document where the accident occurred. Secondly, they can document any injury that you may have sustained.

Finally, if there were any witnesses to your slip-and-fall accident, it is imperative that you take down their names and their contact information. If you file a lawsuit later down the road, these witnesses can become very important to the outcome of your suit.
