Suffern, NY – Gymnastics Coach Guilty of Sexually Abusing Multiple Young Girls Suffern, NY (June 21, 2019) – As of Friday morning, June 21
st, the Suffern-based gymnastics coach who was accused of sexually abusing numerous young girls has pleaded guilty to one of the charges against him. 68-year-old Joseph Lewin, of Port Chester, was arrested last year on multiple counts of
sexual abuse against a child. Lewin was initially indicted on eight counts of sexual abuse against seven different girls, each under the age of 13-years-old. The victims were reported to have been students at his gyms located in Suffern and Hillburn between the years of 2007 and 2014. Lewin ultimately accepted a plea deal that will afford him the opportunity to serve no more than four years in state prison, as well as five years’ post-release supervision. Sentencing will be imposed on September 9
th, according to authorities.
