Finn Dusenbery’s practice is focused on employment litigation. Previously, Mr. Dusenbery worked at several prominent plaintiffs’ employment firms and represented employees in discrimination, sexual harassment, and wage and hour cases. Before that, Mr. Dusenbery had his own firm, handled all aspects of litigation, and litigated cases in state and federal court and arbitration.
Mr. Dusenbery has represented, among others: home health aides alleging that they did not get adequate sleep and were not paid for all hours worked on 24-hour shifts ($2.4 million settlement); restaurant workers at an Indian restaurant alleging minimum wage and overtime violations ($1.8 million settlement); newspaper delivery workers alleging minimum wage and overtime violations against Hearst, the distributer of the San Francisco Chronicle ($950,000 settlement); sanitation workers for a private carting company alleging overtime violations ($425,000 settlement); an oil trader alleging an unpaid bonus (won at arbitration); and a number of associates or employees of financial companies. Mr. Dusenbery’s cases have been covered in a number of publications such as ProPublica, Law360, the Albany Times Union, and the Schenectady Daily Gazette.
Mr. Dusenbery obtained his undergraduate degree from Columbia College, Columbia University and his law degree from Brooklyn Law. At Columbia, Mr. Dusenbery was awarded English Department honors and received the Bunner prize for the best senior thesis on American literature. At Brooklyn Law, Mr. Dusenbery was awarded the highest academic scholarship and served as an intern for the United States Magistrate Judge Viktor Pohorelsky. Mr. Dusenbery is licensed to practice law in New York and all of its federal district courts.
