GM begins process on settling wrongful death, personal injury claims

According to the New York Times, Detroit-based automaker General Motors has begun the process of settling hundreds of wrongful death and personal injury claims linked to defective ignition switches; this forced the recall of over 2.6 million small compact cars manufactured by GM.

The ignition defect can shut off a moving car, disabling airbags as well as steering and braking capabilities. This flaw has proven to be a very large financial burden and public relations disaster for GM. All together, GM faces claims that add up to billions of dollars.

According to General Motors spokesman Greg Martin, “We’ve acknowledged that we have civic and legal obligations as they relate to injuries in accidents involving the recalled cars.”

If you have been harmed by a defective product like GM’s, our NYC legal team at Hach & Rose, LLP may be able to help you pursue legal action against the manufacturer.  Contact us at 866-LAWS-USA so we can discuss your situation.

A subway train with more than 1000 passengers inside derailed in Queens this morning, injuring 12 passengers and requiring an evacuation of those onboard. According to initial reports, at least four passengers suffered serious injuries requiring hospitalization.

The accident occurred at 10:40 a.m. on Friday, May 02, when the express F train derailed near the 65th Street station in Woodside, causing 6 of the 8 cars to leave the track. Authorities have yet to identify a cause for the accident, noting that the tracks were relatively new and that the accident occurred far away from any switch that might increase the risk of something going wrong. The operator and conductor will be tested for intoxication.

At Hach & Rose, LLP, our thoughts go out to those injured in this accident, and we will provide updated information as it becomes available.

In the claim, he states that they failed to warn people not to climb on a particular rock in the park, causing him to sustain an injury.

The lawsuit was first mentioned publicly in an article by the New York Post, which was published on Sunday, March 30. In the article Stock recounted the details of climbing the steep, 8 to 10-foot tall rock that was part of a cultural stone arrangement in June 2013.

Hach & Rose, LLP, shares must know info about fusion surgery

Recently, Hach & Rose, LLP, shared critical information regarding the benefits of fusion surgery. This surgery, which is often conducted on the spine, neck, or ankle, is often necessary to relieving people of day-to-day pains or providing them with greater mobility and function.

Furthermore, because of the serious injuries that victims of accidents such as construction accidents, car accidents, or slip and falls sustain, fusion surgeries are often critical. Unfortunately, these surgeries can be quite expensive, making it difficult for a person to cover the full cost.

Fortunately, people who need these surgeries as a result of an injury caused by another person’s negligence can often get the costs of the surgery covered through a personal injury claim, something our lawyers at Hach & Rose, LLP, have had great success with. To learn more about the benefits of fusion surgeries and Hach & Rose, LLP’s past results, click here or call us at (212) 779-0057.
