Mooers, NY – Police Investigating Fatal Motorcycle Accident on Route 11

Mooers, NY (July 3, 2019) – State Police were dispatched to the scene of a deadly motorcycle crash that occurred on Route 11 in the town of Mooers for reasons that are under investigation. The incident took place on Monday morning, July 1st, at around 11:31 a.m., according to authorities.

Police investigating the accident have stated that Christian Martin, 55, of Quebec, Canada, was traveling east along Route 11 on a motorcycle with an unidentified female passenger at the time of the crash. Currently, authorities have reason to believe that a deer may have entered the roadway, landing on the motorcycle and subsequently causing the accident; however, the investigation is ongoing.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene, where they sadly pronounced Martin deceased. The female passenger was promptly taken to the University of Vermont Health Network at CVPH. She was treated for injuries that were reported as non-life-threatening. No further details have been provided.
