Queens, NY – One Killed in Car Crash on Long Island Expressway
Queens, NY (June 27, 2019) – Four vehicles were reported to have been involved in a multi-vehicle crash on the Long Island Expressway that tragically left one person dead. According to authorities, the collision occurred around 1:25 p.m. on Thursday afternoon, June 27th, near Exit 17 in Queens.
According to officials, four vehicles collided in the eastbound lanes of the LIE, resulting in police and paramedics at the scene where one of the vehicles involved overturned due to the impact. Officials at the crash site were able to confirm that one person, identified only as a 52-year-old man, sadly lost his life in the accident. One other person sustained injuries that have been considered minor, while the other two parties refused medical attention.
Police stated that traffic was backed up for several hours following the collision but no further information has been released.
