Schenectady, NY – 6-Year-Old Boy Struck and Injured by Vehicle near Intersection

Schenectady, NY (June 26, 2019) – A 6-year-old boy was sadly struck by a motor vehicle around 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon, June 25th, according to police. The accident was reported to have happened in the vicinity of Ashmore Avenue and Central Parkway in Schenectady.

At this time, little is known about exactly how the child ended up in the path of the vehicle but police stated that the driver remained at the scene. The child was transported to Ellis Hospital, where he was stabilized and authorities reported that he was to be taken to Albany Medical Center to receive additional treatment.

No charges have been filed against the driver but police are currently conducting a thorough investigation into the events that led to this incident. No further details have been provided.
