Olean, NY – Three-Vehicle Accident on West State Street Leads to Injuries

Olean, NY (June 23, 2019) – On Thursday, June 20th, around 3:29 p.m., police reported that one person was injured in a three-vehicle accident that took place on West State Street in Olean.

50-year-old Robie Mesch, of Allegany, reportedly struck the rear of a vehicle being driven by 88-year-old Sarah Cassada. Cassada had slowed down in traffic for reasons that are still under investigation.

Cassada’s vehicle was then pushed into a third vehicle being driven by 39-year-old Kelly Munro. When Mesch spoke to police, he claimed that the vehicles had stopped abruptly, leaving him no time to slam on his brakes.

Police did not say whether or not charges resulted from the accident. They did not confirm which party was injured but one was transported to the hospital.

The investigation into the accident is ongoing at this time.
