Pittsford, NY – Elderly Man Struck and Injured by Pickup Truck
Pittsford, NY (June 14, 2019) – A 92-year-old man was struck and seriously injured by a pickup truck on Friday afternoon, June 14th, according to police officials. The incident was stated to have happened around 3:30 p.m. on Monroe Avenue.
According to authorities, the elderly man was on the sidewalk as he attempted to walk across the entrance/exit of the Speedway gas station on Monroe Avenue. It was then he was struck by an orange Chevrolet Avalanche that deputies say was leaving the gas station at the same time.
Emergency medical crews were called to the scene where they transported the unidentified man to Strong Memorial Hospital. His injuries have been classified as life-threatening. Monroe Avenue had to be closed down for a period of time as police began an investigation into the incident. However, all access to the road has since reopened.
