East Quogue, NY – Authorities Release Identity of Man Killed in Saturday Crash
East Quogue, NY (June 5, 2019) – Police have released the identity of the man who was sadly killed in a car crash Saturday morning, June 1st. 19-year-old Gianni Mongelluzzo died due to injuries he sustained in an accident on Old Country Road, in the vicinity of Lewis Road, according to authorities.
An investigation into the crash showed that Mongelluzzo had been traveling along Old Country Road in a 1996 Chevrolet Corvette when he went off the road for unknown reasons. Southampton Town Police confirmed that the victim ultimately crashed into a pole around 9:30 a.m.
Emergency medical crews accompanied police at the crash site, where Mongelluzzo was tragically pronounced deceased. At this time, no other vehicles are believed to have been involved but no further details have been released.
