Freeport, NY (June 3, 2019) – According to the MTA, a woman was killed on Long Island Rail Road tracks on Sunday morning, June 2nd. Police concluded that no more than one person was involved in the incident, which was possibly due to electrocution.

Authorities stated that the victim, identified only as a Hempstead woman in her 20s, had been walking on or near the tracks in the aforementioned area. According to police, the victim is believed to have possibly touched the third rail, likely resulting in immediately fatal injuries.

The identity of the woman involved is presently being withheld in order to allow time to notify loved ones. At this time, the events that led to this tragic incident are under investigation.
