Sodus, NY – Update: Deputies Respond to Hit-and-Run Crash on West Main Street

Sodus, NY (June 2, 2019) – All parties have been identified following a hit-and-run crash that occurred on West Main Street, and we now know the conditions of those involved.

Deputies with the Wayne County sheriff’s office were called to the scene of the hit-and-run crash, which took place on Saturday evening on West Main Street. According to police, a vehicle struck multiple people and crashed into an apartment building.

Four people were quickly rushed to the hospital. A 1-year-old was injured and has since been released from Strong Memorial in Rochester. A 15-year-old received a hip fracture, another 15-year-old received a sprained wrist, and a 29-year-old sustained a shin fracture.

Deputies were able to identify the responsible driver as 21-year-old Willie Dan Nash Jr., of Newark, NJ. He turned himself in about three hours after the crash. He had been driving recklessly at the time, which caused him to lose control of his vehicle and strike the pedestrians and a building.

Nash has since received numerous charges and the investigation continues.
