Nolita, NY – Fatal Pedestrian Accident Involving Taxi at Broome Street
Nolita, NY (May 19, 2019) – Around 4:30 p.m. yesterday, May 18th, police claim that a fatal pedestrian accident took the life of one person involving a taxicab on Broome Street.
At the time, an 80-year-old female victim was crossing the street in lower Manhattan when she was suddenly struck by a yellow cab. After police and other responders arrived at the scene of the accident, they found the woman lying in the roadway with severe head trauma.
The woman was immediately taken to the hospital but, while there, she was pronounced dead. The taxi ran into the woman when the driver was making a left turn. The driver was identified as 44-year-old Bouchouata Miloudi, who has since been arrested for failing to yield to a pedestrian.
Police continue their investigation into the accident at this time.
