Brooklyn, NY – Teen Killed in Fatal Bicycle Accident on 17th Avenue
Brooklyn, NY (May 18, 2019) – Police confirmed that a teenager was killed in a fatal bicycle accident when a truck slammed into his bicycle as he was riding.
The teen was identified as 16-year-old Yisroel Schwartz, who had been riding his bike at 17th Avenue when he was suddenly sidetracked by a driver opening their car door. He swerved out of the way to miss it, which is when a truck hit his bicycle.
The teenager was severely injured. Paramedics arrived at the scene and attempted to save his life, transporting him to the hospital. Tragically, he passed away while there.
The child’s parents were notified immediately. The investigation into the accident continues.
