Williamsburg, Brooklyn, NY (May 10, 2019) – A worker had to be rescued from an elevator shaft before being admitted to the hospital in critical condition following a serious workplace accident on Friday morning, May 10th. According to police, the accident took place around 9:30 a.m. inside of a building located in the area of Lorimer Street and Richardson Street.
The worker, identified only as a 34-year-old man, was reported to have been working inside the elevator shaft when he suffered injuries for reasons that have not been reported at this time. Emergency responders were immediately called to the scene of the accident, where they rescued the injured worker and transported him to Bellevue Medical Center. He was reported to have suffered head trauma, according to police.
Currently, neither the workers’ specific occupation nor the circumstances surrounding the accident have been made clear. The incident is presently under investigation.
