Selden, NY – Intoxicated Woman Arrested After Causing Injurious Crash and Leaving Scene
Selden, NY (May 6, 2019) – Police stated that a woman has been arrested for driving while intoxicated after she caused a serious crash and fled the scene on Sunday night. The collision happened at the intersection of Route 25 and Blue Point Road at approximately 9:00 p.m., according to authorities.
37-year-old Candice Giorlando was traveling westbound on Route 25 in a 2011 Dodge Durango when she smashed into a Jeep at the aforementioned intersection. According to police, Giorlando immediately fled the crash site following the accident.
The operator of the Jeep, identified as 41-year-old Sean Sears, as well as his two passengers, 34-year-old Michelle Conner and 3-year-old Mia Sears, were all quickly taken to Stony Brook University Hospital. All three victims were reported to have suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities stated that Giorlando was arrested but got away from police before being rearrested moments later. She is being charged with DWI and leaving the scene of a personal injury accident.
