New Hyde Park, NY – Woman Killed in Motorcycle Accident on Northern State Parkway

New Hyde Park, NY (April 24, 2019) – On Tuesday night, April 23rd, emergency medical crews and police were called to the scene of a fatal motorcycle accident that took place on the Northern State Parkway. The accident was reported to have happened at approximately 8:45 p.m. in the vicinity of Exit 26 to New Hyde Park Road.

According to police, Jose Cruz, of Westbury, was traveling east along Northern State Parkway with one passenger, identified as Carina Perez, also of Westbury, when he lost control of the bike for unknown reasons. The motorcycle continued along the roadway before crashing into the center divider, subsequently throwing both parties from the bike. Police and emergency medical responders were immediately called to the scene.

Authorities stated that Perez was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. Cruz was reported to have sustained only minor injuries in the accident. The cause of this incident is currently being investigated, as no further information has been released.
