Staten Island, NY – 89-Year-Old Woman Struck and Killed by Motor Vehicle
Staten Island, NY (April 22, 2019) – On Saturday night, April 20th, police responded to a call concerning a serious accident between a vehicle and a pedestrian that took place at the intersection of Bradley Avenue and Purdy Avenue. An 89-year-old woman was reported to have been struck and killed by a car around 10:30 p.m. near the intersection known to locals as Meiers Corners.
Police and emergency medical crews were dispatched to the aforementioned area after a vehicle, described as a dark colored, four-door sedan, struck the elderly victim and continued traveling without stopping to assist authorities. Paramedics were immediately sent to the crash site where they were sadly unable to save the victim.
According to authorities, the intersection involved in this accident is well-known for many accidents, property damages, and deaths; however, little has been done to change things. The exact cause of the collision is under investigation at this time.
