Brooklyn, NY – Update: Woman Killed in Tragic Subway Accident Identified as Aspiring Actress
Brooklyn, NY (April 23, 2019) – A young woman who somehow ended up stuck between a train station platform and a train before tragically being struck and killed by another train on Saturday, April 20th, has now been identified by authorities. 21-year-old Helen McDonald-Phalon, an aspiring actress, was sadly hit by the number six train at Union Square at approximately 3:30 a.m., according to police.
The investigation stated that McDonald-Phalon became entangled on the tracks for unknown reasons and was struck by a southbound train while attempting to free herself. Police and emergency medical responders were immediately called to the scene, where she was pronounced deceased due to severe injuries.
At this time, police have not been able to confirm exactly how the victim ended up on the tracks but it is believed that she possibly slipped and fell. No further information concerning the cause of this incident has been made available.
