Plattsburgh, NY – Pedestrian Accident Leads to Pains in Woman on Consumer Square
Plattsburgh, NY (April 20, 2019) – State Police responded to the scene of a pedestrian accident that caused injuries to a woman at Consumer Square.
At the time, 74-year-old Jacqueline Luppa was turning east into a Walmart parking lot when she failed to yield to a pedestrian, identified as 71-year-old Diane Brooks. Brooks was attempting to cross the crosswalk headed northbound at the time.
Luppa struck Brooks on the left side, which caused her to fall to the ground and hit her head off of the ground.
Luppa said that she observed several pedestrians crossing the street but did not see Brooks. Brooks was taken to the hospital for pains to her torso. The injuries were not life-threatening and she is expected to be okay.
Luppa received a ticket for failing to yield the right-of-way.
