Brooklyn, NY – One Injured in Boardwalk Fire Stemming from Cigarette
Brooklyn, NY (April 20, 2019) – On Sunday night, police responded to the scene of a boardwalk fire that caused injuries to one party.
The incident started when somebody under the boardwalk on Brighton Beach dropped a lit cigarette onto a mattress. The mattress immediately caught fire and the fire extended all the way from there to the Tatiana Restaurant. The incident took place around 9:45 p.m.
Over 100 firefighters were called to the scene of the fire, which was controlled fully within an hour’s time. One person was injured but police did not update their condition. They are allegedly expected to be okay.
The investigation into the circumstances leading up to the fire continues at this time.
