Romulus, NY – Rail Worker Hit and Killed by Train in Seneca County
Romulus, NY (April 18, 2019) – A work-related accident that tragically resulted in the death of an Anderson’s Rail Group employee was reported to have occurred on Thursday morning, April 18th. Authorities stated that 46-year-old Thomas Horn was struck and killed by a train around 10:00 a.m. while he was attempting to relocate rail cars.
Seneca County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the scene at the former Seneca Army Depot property due to a report concerning an industrial train accident. According to police, Horn and one other unidentified worker were moving rail cars together when Horn fell for reasons that are currently unknown. He was subsequently struck by an oncoming train shortly after the fall.
Police and emergency medical responders were called to the scene but were unable to save Horn’s life and he was pronounced deceased a short time later. The other employee was unharmed in the incident and no further details have been released. An investigation is ongoing at this time.
