Philipstown, NY – Fatal Accident on State Route 9 Involving Two Vehicles
Philipstown, NY (April 14, 2019) – Yesterday around 6:20 a.m., the New York State Police were called to the scene of a fatal accident that took place on State Route 9.
The accident took place just north of State Route 301 and involved two vehicles. An investigation by police found that a 2018 Dodge Challenger was driving northbound on Route 9 being operated by 25-year-old Isaiah Byers.
For unknown reasons, Byers entered into the southbound lane, which is where his vehicle struck a Jeep Cherokee. Byers was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident by emergency medical personnel.
The operator of the Cherokee was injured and taken to the hospital.
At this time, police continue to investigate the circumstances of this accident.
