Syracuse, NY – One Injured Following House Fire Near Onondaga Park
Syracuse, NY (April 11, 2019) – On Thursday morning, April 11th, crews from the Syracuse Fire Department were able to help four people escape from a house fire that broke out around 5:30 a.m. near Onondaga Park. The fire was reported to have occurred at a home located on West Bissell Street in the city as it prompted responses from firefighters and emergency medical personnel.
Authorities stated that fire crews arrived to find flames bursting through the attic if the structure. Responders were able to get four occupants out of the house as they worked to extinguish the blaze. One of the residents was reported to have been transported to a local hospital for injuries, although authorities are not sure as to whether or not those injuries were directly caused by the fire.
No firefighters were reported to have been injured during the fire which took approximately one hour to contain. No further information has been made available at this time.
