Groton, NY – 61-Year-Old Man Arrested on Child Pornography Charges

Groton, NY (April 12, 2019) – Police reported on Friday, April 12th, to have recently arrested a 61-year-old man for promoting and possessing a sexual performance by a child. Christopher A. Barrows, 61, of Groton, was arrested by New York State Police and subsequently charged with the above-mentioned felony actions.

Barrows’ arrest came after an investigation that was launched by the Troop C Computer Crimes Unit, as well as the Bureau of Criminal Investigations at Ithaca. According to police, authorities were apprised of the sexual images being uploaded to the home where Barrows had been residing in August 2018. A search warrant that was recently executed resulted in the arrest of Barrows at his home.

Barrows was ultimately arraigned in the Town of Groton Court and remanded to Tompkins County Jail on either $2,000 bail or $5,000 bond. No further information has been released at this time.
