Canandaigua, NY – Man Charged with Sexual Abuse of Child Under 9-Years-Old

Canandaigua, NY (April 10, 2019) – A man is currently facing charges for the sexual assault of a child under the age of 9, according to authorities. On Sunday, April 7th, police announced the arrest of 56-year-old John Yarger, of Canandaigua, for predatory sexual assault against a child following an investigation into allegations against him.

The Canandaigua City Police Department was assisted in their investigation by officials from Ontario County Child Protective Services, as well as the Child Advocacy Center. The investigation revealed that Yarger had engaged in sexual contact with a child under 9-years-old on several occasions between 2017 and 2018.

Yarger is currently in custody and will soon be facing the charges against him, although no information has been provided concerning his next court appearance. No further information has been made available at this time.
