Canandaigua, NY – Fatal Accident on Spangle Street in Hopewell
Canandaigua, NY (April 7, 2019) – Around 12:24 a.m., a 28-year-old man lost his life in a fatal accident on Spangle Street yesterday after a head-on collision.
Police are not sure of the exact circumstances leading up to the accident but, when they arrived at the scene, they found a Chevy Silverado that had struck a tree head-on. The occupant was identified as Steven Steurrys.
Police confirmed that nobody else was injured in the accident but Steurrys was taken to the hospital and, unfortunately, died due to his injuries.
The road was closed for two hours while police investigated and reconstructed the accident. They found that the vehicle’s airbags did not deploy upon impact.
The accident is still under investigation.
