Staten Island, NY – Car Crash with Trauma Reported on Staten Island Expressway
Staten Island, NY (April 4, 2019) – A car crash that occurred late Thursday morning, April 4th, was reported to have resulted in serious injuries as it caused major delays along the Staten Island Expressway. According to the FDNY, authorities received a call concerning a crash with possibly traumatic injuries around 10:40 a.m. in the Brooklyn-bound lanes of the expressway.
A spokesman for the FDNY/EMS stated that the collision took place in the eastbound lanes of the expressway, in the vicinity of the exit for the Martin Luther King Jr. Expressway. Emergency medical crews accompanied police at the scene in order to render aid to any victims and evaluate the events that led to the crash.
At this time, authorities reported trauma at the crash site, although there was no mention of the current conditions of any victims. Likewise, police have not stated the number of people involved but no more than two vehicles are currently believed to have played a role in the crash. More details will be provided in the future as the incident is under investigation.
