Brooklyn, NY – 67-Year-Old Woman Struck and Killed by Tractor-Trailer in East Flatbush

Brooklyn, NY (April 3, 2019) – According to police, the driver of a tractor-trailer fled the scene after fatally striking a 67-year-old woman near the intersection of Nostrand Avenue and Flatbush Avenue early on Wednesday morning, April 3rd. The tragic incident was reported to have occurred around 5:00 a.m. in the East Flatbush area.

Police officers who were dispatched to the aforementioned location arrived to find the woman lying on the roadway with severe body trauma. The victim was unconscious, unresponsive, and was sadly pronounced dead at the scene, according to authorities. The identity of the victim has not been provided.

An investigation into the incident revealed that an 18-wheel flatbed truck had been heading north along Flatbush Avenue when it struck the woman who was attempting to cross the street. The driver of the tractor-trailer left the scene and is currently being sought by authorities.

Police have not released any further information at this time.
