Canandaigua, NY – Ontario County Man Charged with Sexual Abuse of a Minor
Canandaigua, NY (March 19, 2019) – A man who authorities say secretly recorded a child in a bathroom, among other sex crimes, has been arrested as of Monday morning, March 18th. Police stated that 39-year-old William Jones, of Canandaigua, has been arrested and charged with first-degree sex abuse and second-degree unlawful surveillance, according to authorities.
Police stated that Jones has been arrested following evidence of an incident in which he secretly recorded a child under the age of 16 in a bathroom sometime during May 2018. The arrest comes alongside other charges. Jones is accused of subjecting the child victim to sexual contact on more than one occasion over the course of two years.
A stay-away order of protection was requested and granted in order to further ensure that Jones has no more contact with the minor. He was transported to the Ontario County Jail to be arraigned.
