The Bronx, NY – Update: Police Identify Victim of Fatal Hit-and-Run

The Bronx, NY (March 15, 2019) – Early on Tuesday morning, March 12, a man was tragically struck and killed by a truck that fled the scene. The victims’ identity has now been verified as 52-year-old Raymond Buffuto, of New Rochelle, according to authorities.

The fatal incident was reported to have taken place on the Bruckner Boulevard service road in the vicinity of County Club Lane at approximately 5:00 a.m. Police stated that Buffuto had parked his vehicle along the service road and attempted to cross the street on foot when he was hit by a truck that kept on going.

Police and emergency medical crews arrived at the location where they pronounced Buffuto deceased at the scene. Authorities believe that the truck involved was a dump truck with a blue container but police have not made an arrest. The dump truck is believed to have continued northbound following the incident.
