Bronx, NY – Fatal Hit-and-Run Accident Victim Identified by Police
Bronx, NY (March 16, 2019) – Around 5 a.m. on Tuesday morning, a fatal hit-and-run accident took place when a truck struck a pedestrian and didn’t stop to call the police.
Police have now identified the deceased party as Raymond Baffuto of New Rochelle, who was found unconscious and unresponsive and lying along Bruckner Boulevard.
Paramedics tragically pronounced Baffuto dead at the scene. According to authorities, the 52-year-old had reportedly exited his vehicle that was parked alongside the road at the time. He attempted to cross the street when the truck struck him.
Police spoke with witnesses and the truck in question is believed to have been a blue dump truck that was traveling north at the time. They claim the truck driver immediately fled the scene.
At this time, police have not yet made arrests. They continue to investigate the circumstances of the accident at this time.
