Greenwich Village, Manhattan, NY – Woman Sexually Assaulted on Staircase in Residential Building
Greenwich Village, Manhattan, NY (March 14, 2019) – A violent sexual assault that took place on a staircase inside a residential building has police searching for the suspect at this time. The incident was originally reported to have taken place early on Sunday morning, March 10th, in Lower Manhattan around 4:30 a.m.
The incident happened inside a building located in the area of Grove Street and Bleaker Street, according to authorities. The suspect and the victim were stated to have been passing one another when the male suspect attacked the victim, identified only as a 20-year-old woman. The unidentified man was reported to have physically and sexually assaulted the victim for a short period of time before fleeing the scene.
The victim was treated at a nearby hospital for at least minor facial injuries and has since been released. The suspect is described as a six-foot-tall male with a dark complexion who was wearing a dark hoodie and dark sneakers at the time of the assault.
