Albany, NY – Sex Cult Leader Facing Additional Charges for Child Pornography

Albany, NY (March 14, 2019) – Last year, the leader of a so-called “self-help group,” Keith Raniere, was arrested for his role in a sex trafficking ring. According to police, Raniere was also hit with child pornography charges on Wednesday, March 13th. Raniere was the leader of his Albany-based NXIVM group, which has also now led to charges against its co-founder, Nancy Salzman.

According to authorities, the child pornography charges surfaced following the investigation that had already been launched into Raniere’s activities. Prosecutors stated that a secret society within the group is guilty of branding women with the leader’s initials and forcing them to have sex with him. Salzman’s daughter, as well as television actress Allison Mack and Seagram liquor fortune heiress Claire Bronfman, have also been charged in the case.

Salzman pleaded guilty to conspiracy charges on Wednesday and Raniere is set to go on trial sometime next month, according to authorities.
