Henrietta, NY – Update: Names of Three Workers Injured in Chemical Spill Released

Henrietta, NY (March 12, 2019) – Fire officials have now released the names of three of the five workers who were hurt during a chemical spill that took place on Monday, March 11th. According to authorities, 31-year-old Andrew Cobin and 19-year-old Steve Fousse are currently in guarded condition at Strong Memorial Hospital, and 45-year-old Matthew Roberts has since been discharged.

The incident was reported to have occurred around 9:30 a.m. after a chemical, known as methylene diphenyl diisocyanate (MDI), spilled from a tank at the Amesbury Truth building located on Jefferson Avenue. Approximately 50 people were in the building at the time of the incident, which prompted responses from hazmat crews and emergency medical personnel.

Cobin, Fousse, and Roberts were immediately transported to Strong Memorial Hospital and two others were stated to have suffered minor injuries. The incident is likely still under investigation at this time.
