Westbury, NY (March 1, 2019) – Police have released the identities of the three people who were tragically killed when two trains struck their vehicle on Tuesday night, February 27. According to authorities, 36-year-old Miguel “Angel” Jimenez Luna, 28-year-old Saul Martinez Caravantes, and Jesus Hernandez were the three occupants of the Jeep that was on the tracks when they were struck by two trains around 7:20 p.m.

The accident was reported to have happened after the SUV involved entered the tracks between the downed crossing gates after fleeing a minor crash in the area. An eastbound train with about 800 passengers and a westbound train carrying approximately 200 passengers were approaching at the same time and the SUV ended up sandwiched between them, subsequently bursting into flames.
