Rochester, NY – Police Officer Injured in Crash at Intersection of East and Alexander
Rochester, NY (February 27, 2019) – At around 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday night, February 26, a police officer was injured after being involved in a crash at a local intersection. According to authorities, the officer was responding to a call for assistance with the vehicles’ lights and siren activated at the time of the incident.
Police stated that the officer had been passing through the intersection of East Avenue and Alexander Street when the driver of another car failed to yield to the emergency vehicle. The other driver involved subsequently crashed into the passenger side of the officer’s car.
Emergency medical crews were immediately dispatched to the crash site to assist any injured victims. Both the police officer and the other driver were promptly transported to a local hospital to be treated for injuries that have been considered minor at this time.
