Queens, NY – Accident Involving Sanitation Truck on Belt Parkway
Queens, NY (February 23, 2019) – On Saturday night, February 23, FDNY responded to an accident involving a sanitation truck that occurred on the Belt Parkway. Police say that the accident happened when the truck hit an overpass and overturned.
As a result of the rollover, two vehicles became pinned underneath the truck and four people received injuries. One person was rushed to the hospital in serious condition.
Emergency crews arrived at the scene of the accident and closed down the westbound lanes so that they could assist those in need.
At this time, police continue to investigate the circumstances leading up to the accident.
