Seaford, NY – 12-Year-Old Struck and Injured by Vehicle that Ran Red Light on Sunrise Highway
Seaford, NY (February 19, 2019) – A 12-year-old pedestrian was reported to have suffered serious injuries after being hit by a car on Tuesday, February 19, at the intersection of Sunrise Highway and Washington Avenue.
Police stated that the young boy was struck while walking along Sunrise Highway for reasons that have not been determined at this time. A friend of the victim said that the driver of the car that hit the boy had run through a red light just before the incident. Emergency medical crews were called to the scene, along with police.
Paramedics at the accident site who attended to the victim reported that the boy had suffered injuries; however, there has been no word on his specific condition. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene in order to cooperate with authorities. Police are likely to be involved in a thorough investigation into this incident.
