Castle Hill, Bronx, NY – 68-Year-Old Woman Fatally Struck by School Bus
Castle Hill, Bronx, NY (February 14, 2019) – A serious pedestrian accident, involving a school bus that fled the scene and left a 68-year-old woman fatally wounded, took place on Thursday morning, February 14, according to authorities. The incident happened at around 10:00 a.m. in the vicinity of Story Avenue and Havemeyer Avenue in the Castle Hill section of the Bronx.
According to authorities, a 68-year-old woman was tragically hit by a school bus near the aforementioned intersection for reasons that have not been determined at this time. Emergency medical crews accompanied police at the scene where they immediately transported the victim to Jacobi Hospital where she was listed in critical condition. Unfortunately, the severely injured woman succumbed to her injuries a short time later.
At this time, police do not know whether or not the driver of the bus was aware that they had struck someone. Investigators are currently going over all the events that led to this incident. No further information has been provided.
