Shirley, NY – One Person Killed and Another Injured in Fatal Accident
Shirley, NY (February 10, 2019) – Police reported that one person was killed and another person was seriously injured in a fatal accident in Shirley this morning, February 10.
The accident took place around 1 a.m. in the southbound lanes of the William Floyd Parkway at Dawn Drive. A vehicle struck a Jeep from behind, according to police. This started a fire.
Witnesses said that they ran over to the Jeep to take the victim out but they were unable to rescue him due to the intense flames. The person in the other vehicle was taken to the hospital with a variety of serious injuries.
Police have not yet released the name of the Jeep driver. No charges have yet been filed due to the accident.
