Lansing, NY – Impaired Driver Causes Crash with 4-Year-Old Child in Car
Lansing, NY (February 8, 2019) – Deputies from the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office charged a man with driving while ability impaired by drugs after a two-car crash involving a 4-year-old girl. The accident was reported to have occurred on Wednesday, February 6, on Graham Road in the town of Lansing, according to authorities.
Police reported that 24-year-old Joshua Wurgler, of Dryden, had been driving west along Graham Road when he failed to keep right and struck a vehicle. The impact of the collision sent Wurgler’s car off the roadway and into a concrete barrier located in front of the Northeast Pediatrics office.
According to deputies, Wurgler was found unconscious behind the wheel with a 4-year-old girl in the back seat of the vehicle. Authorities have determined that the child is not Wurgler’s daughter, but no further information concerning the girl has been released.
The Lansing Fire Department assisted Bangs Ambulance and State police at the scene where Wurgler regained consciousness and was charged with impaired driving. The child was assisted by medical staff from the Northeast Pediatrics office but her specific condition has not been released. Likewise, there has been no mention of the other driver involved in this incident.
